People Newspapers, Wexford upgrade completed

The People Newspaper Group, Wexford part of the Irish Independent Group have completed a major upgrade to their Sales.WORKS, Edit.WORKS and production tracking system.

The core part of the upgrade is the replacement of the current server hardware with new PowerEdge Dell servers with increased storage, and the migration of both Sales.WORKS and Edit.WORKS from Windows NT to MS-Server2003 and Sybase to MS-SQL 2000.

Another major part of the upgrade was the move from the Advisor production advert tracking system to IPA's Neptune system. People Newspapers are particularly pleased with the generic approach of the Neptune system, being cross platform and application independent, future hardware and software decisions can be made in the knowledge that Neptune will accommodate those decisions, not dictate them!

During the upgrade further enhancements were provided to the Sales.WORKS Analysis & Budgeting Suite enabling "what if" scenarios to be applied to rate increases by category based on previous years performance.

The upgrade provides Wexford People Group with the correct platform for growth and prepares the system for future revisions of IPA software to be installed in the future.
